Esaí Angel Lopez, 17, died August 1, 2007 from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident in Derwood. Born in New Brunswick , New Jersey , Esaí attended high school at Magruder High School and would have begun this fall as a Senior. After high school, Esaí hoped to pursue missionary work in Africa and, later, a career in culinary arts. Esaí had a warm, friendly personality and a generous heart. He loved basketball, skateboarding, cooking, singing, writing poetry, and spending time with his friends and family. Esaí was dearly loved and is keenly missed by all who knew him. He was the sunshine that warmed our lives. Esaí is survived by his mother, Leslie, his father, Jose Sr., and his older brother, Jose Jr., and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Esaí's life was held in Gaithersburg, Maryland on August 7th and 8th. The burial will take place at Franklin Park Memorial Cemetery in Somerset , New Jersey on Friday, August 10 at 1:00 p.m.
